Processing Technology of Aluminum Profiles
Step 1: Aluminum Rod Casting
First, heat the aluminum ingots to a certain temperature to melt them. Then, add a certain amount of alloying elements (such as magnesium and silicon) to the molten aluminum. Finally, pour the molten aluminum into a casting machine to produce rods of varying diameters.
Step 2: Aluminum Alloy Extrusion
Extrusion is the process used to shape aluminum profiles. First, molds are designed based on the cross-sectional design of the profile. These molds are used in an extrusion machine to extrude the heated round cast rods into the desired shapes.
Step 3: Post-processing of Aluminum Alloy Profiles
The straightness of aluminum profiles affects whether they can be used in machinery and equipment. Therefore, ensuring that aluminum profiles meet the straightness standards is one of the important criteria for their quality. Generally, extruded profiles undergo a straightening process.
Step 4: Artificial Aging of Aluminum Alloy Profiles
The aluminum alloy profiles are placed in an aging furnace, heated to a certain temperature, and kept at that temperature for 2-3 hours. This process can significantly improve the mechanical properties of aluminum alloy profiles, especially hardness.
Step 5: Surface Treatment
Typically, aluminum profiles are subjected to anodizing with a silver-white finish, which not only enhances their appearance but also provides corrosion resistance. Once this step is completed, the finished aluminum profiles are cooled and ready for use.
